COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Hailing from the tradition of 18th Century IPAs, which relied on generous hopping to protect exports during arduous journeys, this modern incarnation retains the strength, body and strong hop character which is synonymous with this beer’s provenance.

A glorious showcase of the distinct, heavily hopped beers for which Shepherd Neame is famed, India Pale Ale delivers potent bitterness, offset with generous amounts of pale ale malt to deliver a balanced, yet uncompromising brew.

Clean pale amber in colour, head is thin and disappears quickly (loses a point!) but otherwise looks good! Light nose of malty caramel and lovely citrus hops, nice! Well hopped palate with slightly sweet malt, the finish goes on for ages with different layers of zesty hops and malt appearing and lingering, delicious! A crackin’ beer, doesn’t feel like a 6.1%, drinks very easily, lovely!

Flaske 500ml fra Vinmonopilet Tromsø Sentrum. Gyldenbrun. Høyt tett skum med pen lacing. Skummet varer en stund. Topp utseende. Aroma av malt. En kjenner igjen bryggeriets hus-smak. Malt med en tung fruktig ettersmak. Ingen typisk IPA. KU=5

dark orange to amber, smooth offwhite to orange head.very mild aroma, some malts, some flowers. kinda boring. esp. for something called ipa. flavor is malty, sweet caramelly, slightly flowery sweet. i must say that although the beer tastes sort of okay, i’m quite dissapointed reg. the name. Sampling without thinking ipa, however, makes it a lot better. malty beer with a bitter hoppy base to it, tastes sort of like an english bitter, only somewhat more malts and some flowery hops on top of that.

110914. Bottle at home. Pours clear copper with a nice head. Aroma caramel, toffee, mild bitterness. Sweet malty taste with Very British feel. Not an IPA that even myself I associate with the genre nowadays. Not Bad.

Flaska från Alko, Finland. Snygg klar kopparröd i färgen med ett mastigt skum. Doftar kola, vanilj, frukt. Päronsötma med en riktigt kass beska. Alkohol slår igenom. Typisk engelsk IPA, inte i min smak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle present. Light chestnut brown, good head. Grain malt aroma. Dry grain caramel malt flavour. Bitter aftertaste. I don’t normally like this style of beer but this one is OK.

Transparent red gold, strong white head. Hoppy, spicy aroma. Caramel, toffee, bitter notes - but not quite IPA bitter to my taste. Good, though. Nice spicy caramel finish. I could do with another.

To my taste this is a quite basic IPA. Not special in any way, but not bad either. Would hope for some "twist" in the taste.

A dark brown beer, a head is medium and blond. The nose has caramell, some wood, berries. Basic brittish. Taste has caramell malts, some wood and fruits, medium bitterness that dries the taste almost dry. Medium bodied, surprisingly also some alcohol. This beer is filled up with basic brittish nuancees, but nicely fresh.

Very mild smell of hop. Copper colour, white head. Aroma of hop, plastic. Medium bitter, flat carbon. Oily texture.
