COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Hailing from the tradition of 18th Century IPAs, which relied on generous hopping to protect exports during arduous journeys, this modern incarnation retains the strength, body and strong hop character which is synonymous with this beer’s provenance.

A glorious showcase of the distinct, heavily hopped beers for which Shepherd Neame is famed, India Pale Ale delivers potent bitterness, offset with generous amounts of pale ale malt to deliver a balanced, yet uncompromising brew.

Bottled@SBWF2012. Pale amber colour with a small slightly off white creamy head. Aroma is fruity, herbal, mild spicy hops as well as some toffee, minerals as well as mild bready notes. Flavour is rather similar with a quite big grassy finish.

Another great IPA from Rory Duncan. This is a zesty pale beer with great carbonation and malty with a bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from SuperAlko in Tallinn (€ 2.55). BB Oct 2015. Nice clear coppery golden body with a light beige well-retaining and lacing head. On the nose it’s fruity and caramelly sweet with quite a lot of grassy malts. Taste is similarily sweet of caramel and ripe autumn fruits. Some unpleasant grassy dankness in the finish. Body light to medium with moderate carbonation.

Yeasty, doughy aroma.Pours slightly cloudy amber brown with a slightly tan head of tight bubbles, good lacing. Nice mild hop notes and a slight licorice edge, sour but balaned. Full bodied with a nice mouthfeel, slightl oily, tight carbonation. A very understated IPA. Interesting how the British versions (where it originated) are so much subtler than the American hopathons... I prefer the origin’s efforts.

50 cl bottle.
Pours clear amber color with a small head. Mild caramel and pale malts on the nose, some sweetish fruity notes and hay. Pale malts and orange on the flavor, grassy notes, hoppy bitterness and some subtle notes of toffee. Medium to strong carbonation, lingering fruity finish. The caramelly-slick house flavor is there too. Not that special but way better than the Little Valley IPA I drank before this.

Klares Goldorange, nicht homogener, langer Schaum. Hopfig-orange und malzig-butterig. Anfangs gut bitter, auch genug Säure. Eher spritzig, gut Co2. Malzsüsse erst gegen Schluss und im Abgang, nussig. Besser als erwartet.
