2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml bottle enjoyed with friends. Pours a copper gold with almost no head that quickly dissipates. Looks flat and unappealing. Aroma is strongly of wood with a little toffee. Slightly cardboardy hops. Taste is a woody carboardy sweetness thatís overpowered by a metallic bitterness. Rough and messy and flat to finish. Metallic aftertaste dominates as well. Bad beer, very disappointing for a highly regarded brewery.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(bottle) Nondescript slightly caramel aroma. Poured a brilliant deep amber.
Head formed no lace in glass. First impression a simple, numbing bitterness with little hop flavour, but a rich crystal backbone. This beer represents a more authentic IPA style but unfortunately tasted a little old fashioned for my taste and I would struggle to drink more than 1 or 2.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Malty with a sweet and bitter note. Pours clear amber with small, shy head. Quite like it, even though itís rather down to earth compared to other IPAs.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours a failry clear amber color, topped with a medium sized white head, creamy and pretty lasting. Very grassy aroma with some lemony feel to it. SOme dusty maltiness in the back. Mild. Taste is a bit weird. Malty, biscuity and extra herbal. Also a bit boozy, lots of resin. Aftertaste is metallic. Poor.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured a crystal clear deep coppery amber colour with a one-finger cream dense foam head that retained very well and laced well. Carbonation high and coarse. Aroma of moderately sweet caramel/sugary malt with a hint of pine; lacks any real hops presence. Taste of moderately sweet caramel/brown sugar malt plus with a very low harsh bitterness as well as being a bit tart. Light body. A bit sweet, slightly dry and with a moderate length low harsh bitterness but with more of a tart than bitter finish. More an English Bitter style.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours clear chestnut with medium creamy white head. Aroma is malt, grain, hazelnut, fudge and hints of kerosine. Taste is medium to very sweet, light to medium bitter and faint acidic. Body is light oily with soft carbonation. Finish is medium long and mostly sweet with notes of white sugar, caramel, toffee, cream, hazelnut and hints of bitter grapefruit. More English ale than IPA.
