COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Hailing from the tradition of 18th Century IPAs, which relied on generous hopping to protect exports during arduous journeys, this modern incarnation retains the strength, body and strong hop character which is synonymous with this beer’s provenance.

A glorious showcase of the distinct, heavily hopped beers for which Shepherd Neame is famed, India Pale Ale delivers potent bitterness, offset with generous amounts of pale ale malt to deliver a balanced, yet uncompromising brew.

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Golden amber with a thin ring of white head; malty aroma with a hint of spice; full and fruity in the mouth with some caramel malt sweetness; and a dry, prickly finish leaving some toffee and mango, and a pleasant warming sensation. The best Shep beer I’ve had in a long while.

Aroma: caramel, rosemary. Taste: moderate sweeteness balanced with moderate bitterness. Flavour: caramel, light dried fruits (apricots, apples), malts. Short sweeteness and long pleasant bitterness in the aftertaste. I like this IPA. It is not extremal but very pleasant and good balanced.

Caramel decent aroma. Pours lively with high initial carbonation producing thick foam - calms down to give decent head over orange body. Good tongue and mouth feel . Nice tasting - easy drinking.

500 ml, flaske, 6,1 % ABV, BB: 04/2016, købt i Meny i Rotunden i Hellerup, 2. juni 2015.

Light on some and suspiciously clear. Color is good but something is off. Hops don’t seem quite right. Not bad overall

cereal, caramel, grass, herbs, raisin, orange, clear, white foam, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, average carbonation, bitter, not a good beer, to much on bitter side of hop and not a very interessant grain bill..

Bottle from Morrisons. (£1.50) I'm not a Shep fan. They make horrid beers IMHO. This is surprising, for it's a reasonable effort - not fantastic, but drinkable. Fairly bitter and sharp with a bit of milk. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Boring. A friend who’s into IPA said it’s more bitter than IPA’sin general, I think it’s less bitter. Go figure...

Clear orange, white foam ring remaining. Sweet aroma, sour candy. Does not smell too much as an IPA, but taste is great. Not too overwhelming bitter, just enough. Long lasting bitter aftertaste. (Arnhem 201504)
