COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Hailing from the tradition of 18th Century IPAs, which relied on generous hopping to protect exports during arduous journeys, this modern incarnation retains the strength, body and strong hop character which is synonymous with this beer’s provenance.

A glorious showcase of the distinct, heavily hopped beers for which Shepherd Neame is famed, India Pale Ale delivers potent bitterness, offset with generous amounts of pale ale malt to deliver a balanced, yet uncompromising brew.

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Golden amber with a thin ring of white head; malty aroma with a hint of spice; full and fruity in the mouth with some caramel malt sweetness; and a dry, prickly finish leaving some toffee and mango, and a pleasant warming sensation. The best Shep beer I’ve had in a long while.

Served too cold from bottle at One Pint’s stand at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Clear and dark golden in colour. Bitterness and subdued taste of English hops balanced by malt sweetness. Medium long aftertaste. Could have been more hop aroma.

Sample from bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2013, served a bit too cold. Deep golden to brown colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of "dusty" hops, a hint of toffee in the background. The medium dry flavour has a distinct and sharp hoppy bitterness throughout, but I get little hop flavour besides the bitterness. Not that great, really.

Sense of alcohol in finish. More average than not. Cheers Simon, I didn’t know you but I heard your name a few times. I’m drinking this in your honour. Not sure how you’d feel about that.

Muito boa cerveja, um leve gosto de canela, um pouco suave, apesar do teor de 6%. Poderia ser um pouco mais incorpada para o meu gosto. O aroma poderia ser melhor.

0,5L bottle. Black tea color, light samagon aroma. Weird. This beer as would not IPA notes very much. Gentle whiskey flavor. Little hoppy. Leaning tastes. Little watery. Finish is booring.
