3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml dark bottle from Morrisons. Attractive retro label for the current fashion of reviving old recipes - particularly IPA recipes. This is a spanking good beer. The malt is cleaner than one would expect from a retro recipe - but I think Sheps are using their marketing wisdom to simply put a spin on a modern beer. I have no doubt they consulted an old recipe, but they used modern ingredients, modern technology, and modern thinking to adjust the recipe. The malt is clean and toffee flavoured, the hops are brisk and tidy, and the yeast is non-existent. Thereís no character here. Thereís generous hops and malt, combined in a straight forward traditional manner that has been popular now for over ten years. So this both old fashioned and very modern. And tastes more modern than old fashioned. Thereís not much of interest, and thereís certainly no character. But itís a good, drinkable beer. And thereís nowt wrong with that.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
To my taste this is a quite basic IPA. Not special in any way, but not bad either. Would hope for some "twist" in the taste.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A dark brown beer, a head is medium and blond. The nose has caramell, some wood, berries. Basic brittish. Taste has caramell malts, some wood and fruits, medium bitterness that dries the taste almost dry. Medium bodied, surprisingly also some alcohol. This beer is filled up with basic brittish nuancees, but nicely fresh.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A classic India Pale Ale: amber in colour, really strong and malty aroma. intensively bitter at the same time, the bitterness offers some hints of citrus and pine. Long lasting finish! Still it comes well-balanced.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours amber with a small, light tan head. Light hoppy aroma with some pine notes. Taste is bitter but not too overpowering, other than that itís somewhat weak. Mouthfeel is soft, slight carbonation. It lacks a bit as both an IPA and an ale, and as a combination of the two itís not too impressive. Alright for sure, but nothing to write home about. For the price (3,5eur a bottle) Iíd say itís not worth it.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Mahogny in color, small off-white head. Nuttyness, some floral or soapy notes too in aroma. Hints of bitterness mixed with some nuttyness in taste. Some soapyness in aftertaste, but mostly a fairly dry and nutty finish.
