3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From cask at Charlies. Pours cloudy orange with a lacing white head. Light malty and bitter aroma. Flavour holds a mild citrus fruity note to a somewhat vague malt base. Goes into a solid bitterness in the finish and ends quite dry. Crisp and clean bitter.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at Mableís Tavern near Kingís Cross. Darker amber color with an off-white head. Malt, light caramel, is the aroma. Less than medium body. Fruit slightly overlayed by roasted caramel. A bit harsh. Bitter of some sort balances this at the finish. Good, but more malt than hop for most of the drink.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pretty good ale this one, but not Shepís best (with a small "b"). They only seem to serve this up there in East Kent; I can never get this on tap in Medway only in Faversham and Canters. Anyway, it is a distinctively Neame brew with that hoppy aftertaste. A bit more malty and sweet than a Spit or Late Red, more like a weaker/poor manís Bish Finger.
