Bottled only - 500ml pateurised bottles.
Crisp and clean with a refreshing citrussy hop bite, This IPA is burnished gold in colour from the carefully roasted malts used in the mash tun. Hops are added at three stages in the brewing process to give the aroma and bitterness so typical of an India Pale Ale.

Bottle, probably from Lidl. Copper with a thin head and a carbonation. Light bitter with a low bitterness. Crisp and clean like its description and small malt notes.

A mid brown coloured beer with a weak white head. A slightly funky sulphurous aroma on opening the bottle. This does settle down to let a pithy hop aroma to come through, there is also a faint maltiness in the background. Dry mouthfeel. The taste follows on from the aroma. Although there’s elements of grassy, hop and mild biscuity malt, the sulphurous funkiness is still present, not doing the beer any favours. The finish is weak. Bottle bought from Lidl, Fakenham as "Dad’s Delight"

Bottle from Lidl as Dad?s Delight, standard Shep?s aroma and palate, a bit two-dimensional, but crisp, hoppy and quaffable.

99p bottle from Lid as "Dad’s Delight". Bright bronze with a slender white foam. Aroma of thistle, aniseed, pine cone and wet stones. Gentle watery Allsorts and caramel on slate flavour finished generously with bitterness. Fresh bread and caramel popcorn aftertaste. Not as good as I’m making it sound but drinkable all the same.

Bottle from Lidl. Pours amber with a fading cream head. Some Citrus and spice to this, but also less pleasant notes of tin especially and cardboard too. Pretty poor.

Bottle from Lidl, Wrekenton, Gateshead. Amber coloured with a burnt toffee and red fruity flavour, slight tartness and a sulphur, almond and fruity finish. Very good for a low ABV beer.

Appearance: Clear copper/amber with finger thick white head. Aroma: Bready/biscuity malt, peppery, subtle caramel. Taste: Medium bitterness, low sweet and sourness. Palate: Medium thick coarse texture, light body, average carbonation, abrupt dry, perfumed, bitter, malty finish. Comments: Ok and lace.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2014 Aroma: Fruity, Caramel, toasty Appearance: Clear light amber. Small, long lasting white head. Flavour: Caramel, medium bitterness, medium sweetness, biscuit, light hop flavours, light resin, fruity Palate: Medium body, creamy carbonation Overall: I think it needs a bit more hops (even for an ENGLISH IPA). My beer may be old (can’t find the BB date to confirm) and that would explain the lack of hoppiness in bitterness and flavour. Still a lovely beer and I would drink a few 500 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 14A. English IPA Had it again as a "Dad’s Delight"

Beese (2560) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 24, 2014
Bottle from local supermarket. Poured a clear, dark orange colour with a dense white head and visible force carbonation. Mild aroma of some floral hop, bready malt and straw. Some grassy hop flavour mixed with sugary sweetness and cream soda notes. Finish was typical pasteurised affair; carbonated water with residual malt.
