Note to admin - this is a new cask mild from the micro plant, May/June 2013. The silky ebony hue of this beer leads to a complex aroma of dark chocolate, mocha coffee, vanilla and a smokiness reminiscent of autumn bonfires. A smooth rich blend of dark chocolate and roasted coffee hits the palate complimented by subtle hoppy, fruit flavours. Velvety cocoa flavours linger on the palate, making Mild a darkly delicious gem of a beer. Available from 6 May to 2 June.

Cask @ The Alma, Painters Forsdal, Kent. A clear, deep amber body with a small tan head. Light and nice aroma of slightly roasted dark malt, dark fruit and a hint of liquorice. Flavor is soft, dark malt, slightly roasted, moderate bitterness, fruity and perfectly balanced for a mild. Medium body and medium aftertaste. Nice and really smooth correct to style mild.

The Sun Inn, Kelvedon. Clear dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Palate is light and dry. Super mellow dark malt. Just a bare whisper of roast. Touch of dark fruits. Dry finish. Actually pretty well joined up and drinkable.

Cask at the Cask and Glass, Vicminster back streets, 03/06/13. Extremely dark mahogony brown with a bubbly beige head. Nose is dark malt, toffee, leather, nutty tones, light smoke. Taste comprises light roast, tobacco, touch of chocolate, mineral notes, ash, toffee. Light to medium in body but not unduly thin, just right for a mild, medium carbonation lending towards a dryish finish. Decent mild.
