COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, special
Brewed for Wetherspoon 2013 Spring Real Ale Festival
This pale ale uses a blend of English and American hops, resulting in ripe, tangy fruit flavours on a bed of malt, with hints of lime and lemongrass and a bittersweet finish.

At Franco Manca Belsize Park. Not really a pale ale in the modern crafty sense, more of an average bitter with a slightly harsh ashy bitterness. Don’t think Shepherd Neame overly stretched themselves with this one...

33cl-fles gekregen van Banzale. Merci! Licht alcoholisch water dus. M: Stevige carbonatie, geen body.

Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in Apr 2013 during Spoons Festival - Pale Gold in colour. Fruity; lemon, orange and lime. Hoppy; grassy hops. Malty; biscuity malts, caramel. Good fruit/hop/malt balance. Mildly bitter citrus fruity hoppy throughout. Liked this. Decent.

Cask ale at Weatherspoons in Arbroath. A VERY disappointing ale. Very boring, very tasteless. Might as well have been drinking cheap lager. Pours a nice yellow-amber, nice frothy head. That’s as far as it goes.

Tasted 17/4/2013 draught "The Bell", Amesbury, Wiltshire. Poured a clear amber with a thin off-white bubbly head that retained OK and laced well. Aroma of citrus (orange, lemon) and good smooth floral hops. Taste of sweet malt followed by smooth floral hops bitterness. Light body. Long smooth slightly bitter finish. Bordering on an IPA. Very nice!

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW - London. Pours clear gold with a tight, creamy off-white head. Has a fairly inviting aroma of tangerine and orange. Flavor not nearly as nice though not bad. Some mild pale malt sweetness, bitter hay and citrus rind, some dry grass. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fair condition. Light dry hay bitterness to fin, very faintly resinous, some minerals, low sweetness, more citrus rind. Pretty run-of-the-mill stuff.

Cask - The Glass House (JDW), Norwich. Poured a golden amber with a one finger, mostly lasting white head. Bright, spicy and zesty lemon, grassy hop, some orange peel and lemon rind aroma and flavour profile with some modest sweetish malt depth. Light to medium body, softish mouthfeel with good spritz on the palate and a dry, long finish.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2013 The Larry, Nuneaton, 13/04/13. Draped, brilliant amber. Shrub, stroked dog, grapefruit, grassy aroma. Fine-conditioned; husky tonic and graprefruit notes softened with biscuit. Touch of meat. Despite that, well- hopped, balanced and very decent. Pintworthy, in fact. Curry leaf burps. Good.

Gravity @ Back of Beyond (jdw beer fest). Clear, pale amber. Citrus and melon. Mid bitter after. Will have more of these this evening...
