Cask, Special;
This new beer, brewed especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival, is named after the sailing barges which were used in the Swale, Medway and Thames estuaries. It is a full-bodied, fruity ale with a moderate bitterness, hopped at three stages of its brewing process to deliver a thirst-quenching fl avour and a stunning aroma and palate. Hops used: Cascade, Styrian Goldings, Tettnang

Cask @ JDW Victoria Station. The pour’s deep amber with a tiny white head. The nose is toasted bread, some cereal grain, sweet honey butter and mild yeast. The taste is toasted leafy tobacco, dried wood. Sweet berry-like malty body. Hints of acidic apple skins. Mildly chalky, yeasty body. Medium body, fine carbonation. Overall, not one that I’d quickly return to. There’s a bit too much harsh tobacco flavors for my taste.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Cask. Clear deep red - amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth, very modest fine carbonation. Sweetish malts, little lactose. Light cherry. Touch of candy. Light sweet floralness. Semi dry finish. A light and sweet beer, is it a bitter?
