Bottle. ( Clear ) Typical signature flavour. Some spiciness but lacks body. Pleasant but not really a Christmas beer.

Bitter is the word. A nice flavour but not very full, bitter on the taste and on the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle. Nice white head. Light red in colour. Reasonably bitter with some fruit notes. For it’s abv enjoyed it much more than anticipated.

Aroma has a lot of sweet caramel notes with a hint of sugariness and may be a touch of spice. Flavour loses most of the good elements of the aroma and leaves a lingering watery bitterness. This is an OK beer but in no way outstanding.

Bottle (short dated) from the local offy. For the grand sum of 80p! Clear, reddy brown with a lovely, creamy, lasting, off white head. Looks good! Aroma of sweet toffee maltiness. Some fruit. A hint of hops too! Taste is a slightly burnt, light sweetness. Actually quite enjoyed this. Especially for the money.

Pours clear amber color with a small head. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, some mild hops and fruits. Flavor of sweet fruits and malts, caramel, toffee and hay. Not very pleasant.

A mid amber orange coloured beer with a rocky white head. A distinct aroma, of dusty malt, wood and hay. Medium bodied and fizzy mouthfeel. Malt dominates the inital taste, smooth, nutty with a touch of caramel. This is then followed by a hoppy, citrus fruit bitterness, a little like lemon rind, only not a harsh. There is also a grassy element in the background. The finish is bitter and quite lengthy.

Aroma has some english toffee and hints of goldings style hops. Flavour is somewhat sweet with toffee, somewhat harsh malt, some caramel, hops and hints of biscuits. Yet another bitter.

UPDATED: FEB 29, 2012 Bottle from Nisa (formerly Pedmore Wines), Grange Road, Stourbridge. Looks decent - clear, chestnut brown/reddish tint. Small head with nice lacing. Smells pleasant - a hint of flamingos and tablelegs but the overwhelming aroma is beer. Tastes well balanced, the right mix of bitter hops and sweetness; very drinkable. A stronger flavour than its 4% would suggest. A little fizzy on the tongue - some might rate it down for that but I think it’s just the right amount. Decent stuff.

Aroma hints of bread, floral; clear with a reddish hue; Head frothy, white foam; lightly bitter taste; light body, thin feel, fizzy. Would refresh Rudolph and not be demanding at 4%.
