3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Creamy foam of good persistence. Determined red color, much limpid and little fizzy one. Medium scent and wrapping; not particularly decided but pleasant. Bitter and balanced taste, much English. Discreet persistence.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Almost no head (white) on a medium copper body. Unremarkable aroma. It has a rather watery and bitter taste, which makes it rather insipid and unremarkable. Not a beer Iíll want to try again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Goldencoloured, and about 1cm white head, head disappears quickly, but a 1-2mm head is there until the end. Smells like hops and a bit of citrus. Soft and smooth taste of mango(?) fruit, as well as some wood (oak or alder). Wellbalanced, this was my favourite beer for a long time in my early beer drinking days.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 7, 2005 This beer is very good, despite the clear bottle!. Nice golden colour, and a good lasting head. The beer is as tasty as it looks. Maybe a little high in carbonation.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Strong smell of skunky hops and burnt caramel. Decent bitterness, good lace and attractive copper colour, but the taste is a bit thin, clay-like, one-dimensional. Beats a Canadian brew any day. Would like to try it on tap.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tasted from the íClearí bottle. Poured a deep copper with little, to no head and minor lacing. Aroma was of clean liquor, and spicy, fruity esters. In the mouth the carbonation bit at the tongue and overshadowed the minor toffee and toasted grain flavours. Little hop character, light body and a dry, forgettable aftertaste made for a disappointing beer. Clear bottles, pasteurisation and artificial carbonation took itís toll on this one. Not the best from this fine brewery

Bottle. Light brown colour. Dense beige head with a faint yellow note. Hoppy and malty aroma. Woody. Bitter flavour. Sweetish with hops and malt.

Nice classic english ale. Had both from 500 ml bottle and a cask from Whetherspoons. Beautiful copper colour, nice full flavoured malt component. Small head well rounded off with a dry creamy finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Fruity aroma with some herbal, grassy, floral hops apparent. Clear copper-brown with two-finger off-white head that recedes to decent cover. Caramel malt sweetness with lots of fruity esters and a pleasant herbal hop flavour and balancing bitterness in the finish. Light-medium body with effervescent carbonation. Nicely balanced and very drinkable. Bottle (clear).
