Bottled. Pours a clear mid brown with a good, lasting white head. Subtle hoppy aroma of resin. Hoppy flavours too, developing into a smooth, nutty, malty finish. Good example of an English bitter.

Lots of malts and hops in the flavour with a medium bitter finish. The Spitfire seems to have an above average carbonation which I kinda like

Good honest ale, pours nicely. Refreshing with a slight bitter aftertaste, caramel, butterscotch, went well with roast beef.

Bottle. Copper coloured with medium head. Aroma is a little yeasty. Taste is also yeast, earth, caramel and some bittering hops that linger in the mouth. Middle of the road beer.

Shared with my new best friend Joe. I like him because he’s not funnier than me so I can feel superior, also he knows far less than me about beer so I feel good about myself, this makes him a more palatable mentee. Bitterness that isn’t enjoyable. Malt with ugh. Not very good.
