Bottle. BB Jan 2013. Pours clear bright amber orange with decent off white tight bubbled head being somewhat resilent. Aromas of light toffee, grains, bread, hints of munich malt and a light melanoidan character, almost wort-like. Hop character diminished by age, however a subtle spruce, floral grassiness character still remains Medium light body, medium high carbonation, a bit spritzy towards the finish. Butterscotch, toffee, complex melanoidan, burnt toffee character. Malts linger on with an estery mineral-like yeast character and a back-seat hop bitterness.

A nice beer but quite average. Lots of malt on the nose and in taste, which I don’t normally like but it’s well balanced with fruity hoppy notes.

Aroma: slight citrus but mostly toffee. Appearance: deep amber in colour with minimal head. Taste: toffee again, very light, a little watery. I don’t trust beer out of a clear bottle!

Well carbonated. Plenty of sediment. Grassy, bland English hops and malty sweetness. Watery mouthfeel and bitter finish. Better than marstons pedigree. Has some charm as a classic English bitter.

Bottle at home. Pours dark amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma is malty caramel. Some mild hops and woody feel. Bit watery as expected from the ABV but still quite nice beer.

50 cl bottle. Pours clear amber color with medium head. Aroma of some fruits, toffee and also grassy. Taste is malty, hops, toffee with a deep bitter finish. A little to bitter for my taste, but, overall, a good beer.
