Dark amber in color, quite clear, I can read my laptop monitor through it. Slightly bitter, a bit vegetal in flavor. Palette is clean, dry.

Aroma rather faint; beautiful color and clarity. Too bitter for my taste, but feels nice in the mouth.

Bottel 33cl. I used to love this one, partially due to my love for the 2nd WW plane, but primarily due to the taste, but so much have happend since then in my beerlife. This doesn’t really cut it any longer for me! It’s still a good Bitter-Britt but I require so much more now a days to make my day. The Looks are great but the taste just doesn’t cover it anymore. The Beer is still the same, it’s me that has evolwed!

Medium, cream head over foxy-copper, completely clear beer; some lace. Aromatic UK hops; some caramel, parsley, bit nutty (hazelnuts). Well-hopped, fine hops, bitter but absolutely no harshness; CO² mixing into flavour. Faint restsweetness retronasal, malty, but very refreshing on the whole. Bit aggressive carbonation, weird for a Brit ale. Rather light body. Despite the clear glass horror, despite the pasteurisation, a brewery as Sheps’ seems to be able to deliver fine, satisfying bottled ales. Why can’t the others obtain comparable results?

Bottle from Sainsburys. Reddish amber bitter, slightly sulphury nose and initial taste, then pleasant hoppy bitter finish. Good solid bitter, sure it used to be bottle conditioned though.

50cl bottle @ home. Clear medium amber color, small white to off-white head. Smell malts, sweet malts, grainy. Taste sweetish malts, light to medium dry bitterness. Low to medium body, average carbonation.

500ml bottle. Clear dark copper with frothy, creamy stable white head. Peculiar strawy, grassy hop aroma. Lively carbonation throughout, dry grassy hop taste with a dry finish just stopping short of being soapy. Characterful Bitter.
