2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottled 11/05/13. A broght orangey gold coloured beer with a bright white head. A typical SN pasteurized beer. Tons of boiled sweets in the nose with caramel. Particularly sweet and cardboardy in the mouth. Just not good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Small head with a spicy aroma. Medium body with some citrus standing out. A bit sharp and edgy for my taste but still a reasonable beer.
Better than quite a few others I have tried recently from this brewery.

Cheap bottle from Lidl. Tastes pretty generic homogenous conformist. Not offensive but far too plain Jane for me.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml bottle. Pours clear light golden with a decent head that disappears quite quickly. Fairly standard aroma - slightly grassy with a touch of spice. Flavour us pretty generic for a pale ale. Some sweetness, a bit of citrus, light bitterness. Pleasant enough but there’s really nothing to set it apart.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light golden ale with next to no head. Typically Shepherd Neame with its soapy hoppy aroma. Fairly tasty.

ok white head. Clear golden blond pour. Ok, not as good as other Sheperd & Neame beers.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Cheap supermarket beer bought in a cheap supermarket: clear 500ml bottle, best before July 2012, drank Oct 2011.
Poured into a UK pint sleeve: Pale golden body with very little head, could have been a Lager/Pilsner by looks.
There wasn’t much aroma, even as the beer warmed in the glass. Hops, spicey hops maybe, but very little smell all round.
Citrusy and hop bitter, not a lot of malts about: refreshing but missing any depth or finesse, this is an unsophisticated brew designed to quench thirst rather than entice the drinker into taking their time and savouring its few qualities.
Another brew by Shepherd Neame which leaves me wondering why I bother buying their bottled stuff.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
From Lidl. Lime-squirted popcorn aroma with some banana shrimp and coriander-like spice in the mix- definite wheat. Wheat and lime taste, lick of lawnmower blade. Astringent, cooked finish, lick of coinage. Hay and dust, some pleasant grassiness in there. Somewhere. Lager gold, steady fizz, slim white head. Bad lager with fruity and off notes. I miss Shep’s signature hop character, which can be decent even in these pasteurised bottles. Poisonous afters. Acceptable is being generous.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Lidl Camberley. Pours a dark golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is fruit and a hint of grass, the taste all light malt with a dry hoppy finish. A very good summer beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Floral aroma, nicely hopped, slightly bitter aftertaste, lager like in appearance and has a crisp lager like taste
