On tap somewhere in London! Clear dark brown beer. Typical Shep dryness but not too much. Mild toffee caramel malt and the mild hops present a little sweet pineapple. Finishes dry and with more of the same. Not bad at all, one of the better Sheps.

Cask at the Duke of York, Southwark, 3rd Dec 09. Bright copper colour with a diminishing white head. Alcohol and toffee aroma. Sweet malty taste with medium mouthfeel (lighter than say, Youngs Winter Warmer). Decent for a mjaor brewery but too bland to be a classic. Reasonable balance and bitterness at the finish.
