3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I noticed a lot of people gave this a parsonís egg of praise which it might deserve for the woeful sport sales lingo associated with it.
But nobody recommended readily available examples of better beers e.g. more hoppy, but not sweet.
Any suggestions welcome.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
50cl bottle from Lidl, Blackwater. Russet red with a loose beige head; typical SN hoppy aroma; sweet malty flavour with a caramel finish with a background of dusty English hops. Not bad - improved by drinking while watching England beat Scotland for the Calcutta Cup.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Lidl. Dark amber brown. Ashy aroma with a hint of chocolate. Slightly sour earthy, leafy taste and a mid bitter finish. Pretty ordinary, as is the slogan on the bottle: íWhat a bootiful aleí, which is neither original nor funny. The Rugby World Cup deserves better.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Lidl- something to do with egg-chasing? Clear chestnut with a stable beige foam. Sherbety, slightly blackcurrant-inflected aroma with pecan and toffee hints; a pinch of hop cone as always. Flavour has soapy lemon and blackcurrant hop notes over a slightly nutty, bread and digestive base. Then that spoiling, astringent aftertaste dragging it down a notch. Pasteurised alright. No better than OK.
