3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2007 Shiny creamy offwhite biggish lasting head over light brown body with carbonation. Light bitterish hoppy aroma of caramel with citric tea and traces of nuts. Taste is lightish nutty caramel with a dry aftertaste of roasted almonds. Wooden notes. Notes of citric metallic tea hover above the whole thing. There is also a slight medicinal taste. Very harmonic, and very drinkable. Nice! (0.5l bottle.)

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hmmm. A tricky little beast this one. an unusual fruity / honey taste with a sweet aroma. Beautiful colour. Unfortunately, It just doesnít add up to the sum of itís impressive parts? why? Heck, who am i to say? Ask Neame. Nowhere near the usual Neame standard, but worth a dabble.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Dark golden with a white head. Toast and marmalade aroma. Malty taste with a lot of fizz and not much bitterness. It may be organic, but itís not a great beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle: golden brown colour, head fades fast leaving a rather still and lifeless brew: aroma of citrus and honey, full-bodies in the mouth with caramel malt dominating.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Replaced Goldings as Shepherd Neameís Summer Ale in 2006, but much inferior in my humble opinion. Similarly golden in colour, but less hoppy and bitter in taste. Too sweet and caramel for my liking.
