A firm platina blond head, atop a clear brown-shaded golden body. Discreet but pleasant aroma of toasty and light bisuity malts. Some subtle fruitiness, but not much hop aroma. Healthy body for a 4 percenter. Taste is semi-dry, with lightly toasted malts and a fine underlying fruity/earthy bitterness. Drinks good, this one. I hope I’ll someday get a chance to taste it from a well kept cask. [0.5 l clear bottle, puchased at my local Meny]

Bottle from Gardiner & Haskins, Bristol. Deep gold with a, slight white, head. Sweet, cereal mlats, a touch of boiled sweet and soggy cardboard, grassy hop and moderately bitter finish. Not very nice.

Rune (7760) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUL 2, 2014
500ml bottle kindly shared by Finn. Clear golden-brown coloured body to a low, but stable, bubbly, white head. Dotted spots to the glass. Characteristic aromas of caramel, bread, and leafy hops. Similar malt-fruity taste of leafy hops mixed with brown malts leading to a smooth and dry bittersweet ending. Foamy in the mouth. Fine bodied considering the low abv. Good drinking (at Finns in Tromsø, 25.06.2014).

500ml bottle from local supermarket. Colour is mod amber. With a thin white head. The aroma is malt and grassy hop. The flavour is slightly bitter and woody.

Forsiktig syrlig bitter avslutning.

ClubGonzo (3854) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 20, 2014
Bottle from Matkroken Natland, Bergen. Pours a crystal clear, very bubbly body with a medium foamy white head. Nose is smooth caramel, vanilla pudding, pale malts and hints of bread and grass. Taste is caramel, pale malts, grass and hints of minerals, moss and vanilla. Light to medium body, medium to high carbonation. Quite a pleasant English pale ale, really; this is highly drinkable despite the typically not-so-challenging taste profile.

500ml bottle. Clear golden color. Small size, white head, stays. Herbal, hop pellets, sweet notes in aroma. Hops, chalky, grassy taste. Nice mild hoppy aftertaste. Also some nutty aspects.

500ml clear glass bottle (ALEhouse, Riga)
Simple bitter, spongy off-white head. Clear glass, for a hoppy beer - WTF? Slight hint of artichoke dip initially, but it opens up to a nice citrussy spicy hop aroma. Fairly thin palate, crisp carbonation. But refreshing, like a summery golden ale. Simple sweet barley taste, pleasantly hopped. Honey in the finish, some husky grains, and a pleasant bitter tingle too.

Smells rather grassy and nothing else. Appearance is just dark pee. Taste is bit fizzy but overall refreshing.

Clear bottle. Slightly malty but no real taste dominates. Pretty bland and boring. Nothing much else to say about it.
