| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Gold. Sweet slightly ashy cooking apple aroma. Sweet fruity taste, though the balancing dryness gave an oddly disconcerting impression of the chemical bitterness one associates with artificial sweeteners. But it was an above average bottled commercial cider. yalnikim (786), Wellington, New Zealand

Sweet apple aroma, with a little skin and wood. More sweet apple in the mouth, with not as much acidity or tannin as I’d like to balance. Good apple flavour, subtle skin complexity. Nice to sip over an hour or so while I cut some legs off a solid rimu table but the medium sweet finish is a little too sweet for me to enjoy on an ongoing basis. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 17, 2008 Pours a mid gold with a disappearing lace. Aroma features applewood, a touch of tannic plastic, a warm character. On the palate there is rich sweet apple, warm alcohol, loads of woody tannin leading to a medium dry finish. The evident alcohol would make this a good winter warmer. Papsoe (15178), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 24, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, deep golden with no head. Leathery apple aroma. Medium-bodied and very classical English with its leathery astringency and also some wooden notes. Sweetness dominates but it’s very well balanced by the leathery astringency. Low in carbonation and therefore terribly easy to drink in spite of the heavy alcohol. 180208
