A sparkling, medium-sweet, single varietal cider made with the Falstaff apple variety.

Producing a fine naturally pale cider, this red and yellow flushed, juicy apple is a cultivar of James Grieve. The juice is pleasantly crisp, and produces a fine light cider with a refreshing medium sweet taste.

500ml bottle from Sheppy’s Cider Farm. Pours pale yellow with a cider orchard aroma. Taste is bright and fruity. Fairly sweet and sugary, but not overly so. For a Medium-Sweet it’s nice, but just not my go-to style.

Bottled@CPH BF 2013. Pale yellow colour, not that much head. Aroma is green apples, some mild sweet ripe apples as well as some slight yeast and mild vanillaish notes. Flavour is very similar, but also has a slight tart edge to it. Refreshing (especially among all the beers at the festival).

Very sweet and apply on the nose. Very light golden in colour, sparkling. Slight honey edge, sweet but a touch sour. Tiny bit of pear perhaps. Really quite lovely!

Appearance: Clear straw/golden/white wine colour with bubbly white head on the pour. Aroma: Apple, leather, barnyard, spicy. Taste: Low sweetness, medium tannin and acidity. Palate: Thick slightly coarse texture, medium body, average carbonation, lingering dry, apple, tart, spicy finish. Comments: Very good but certainly refreshing. A little too tart for the flavour balance.

Bottle. A clear one, some bubbles on top, and golden in color. It smells quite sweetish, with apples and sugar. The flavor is rather sweetish, with a nice apple touch. Rather straightforward and boring, lacking big time on complexity. Medium body, some carbonation. Not my kind of cider. 130119
