Glouglouburp (1935), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 10, 2008 In short: A very solid roasted stout. Nothing new but very solid.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Black body with a beige ring of foam
In long: Plenty of roasted malts with a light roasted coffee bean flavour and a some prunes in the finish. Full bodied, Medium carbonation. Big body but just dry enough to make it highly drinkable. What I really liked about this beer is how much it was roasted and dry yet still felt somewhat juicy and creamy. The Irish part of the name is probably inspired by how tempting it is to get drunk on this highly drinkable beer.
Rogueone (365), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA May 19, 2008 Sample@ WBE: Tasty, but not what you would expect from an Irish Stout. Pours a mahogany color, with amber highlights. Has a sweet, chocolate malt aroma with a bit of a smoked character to it. Very interesting, and it makes me want to try more from this brewery. kace069 (6), marlette, Michigan, USA does not count Mar 23, 2007 I am not an Irish stout kind of guy. Excellent beer, wish I would have made this post sooner rather than later to give more detail. Excellent color and roastiness. Not as dry as I would have expected. I will be returning to this brewery and post some better reviews. walleye (820), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Sep 7, 2006 had this opening night. served by Ray. poured black with a small tan head because the glass was full of beer which was a good thing. aroma wow all that roastyness coming out of the glass , dark chocolate, coffee, malts and barley. flavor no disappointment here, the taste buds were happy getting that nice smooth chocolate with a touch of coffee and malts, brown sugar, cherries has it warmed. nice thin mouth feel to this very easy to drink.had a couple of these good beer congrats Ray demitriustown (564), Macomb, Michigan, USA Sep 6, 2006 Updated: Sep 7, 2006Tap at brew pub: Was an oily black with a nice sized tan head that dissipated rather quickly. Aroma was malty, some chocolate, and a coffee scent too. Taste was nicely malty, chocolate, a slight coffee tinge, and some caramel notes throughout. Palate was rather thin, not really watery, but some nice malty bitterness on the back end. Overall, It was a decent Irish Stout, and had some nice flavors and aroma throughout. I will go back to sample the rest of their beers.
