mattmc1973 (105), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Mar 17, 2008 Had this today at St. Patty’s Day, pint on draught. Very dark brown with small frothy head, mild lacing. Roasted malt flavor, with mild chocolate and coffee. Creamy mouthfeel. Overall a nice beer. Tmoney99 (3522), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Mar 6, 2008 MBG Winter Fest 2008. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Moderate roasted coffee and malty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met. BBB63 (3795), La Porte, Indiana, USA Feb 25, 2008 2008 MBG Winter Fest: Near opaque with a frothy beige head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of oats, roasted and charred malt, chocolate, tobacco, and grassy esters. The taste is well balanced between sweet malts, coffee and hop bitterness with some plum flavors. The finish is a tad smoky and spicy. The mouth feel is sprite and medium-bodied. A nice little session stout.
