On tap at the brewery. As soon as it hits your tongue has a slightly nice citrus but immediately go away and is followed by a plain almost cardboard flavor. Drinkable. Just not much flavor.

On tap at Sherwood Brewpub. Clear golden amber with a thin white head. Aroma is very stalky and smells like rope with pale malt and toasted grains. Taste is pale and grainy with wheat, mild corn, light fruit and toasted malt. Semi sweet and a touch slippery.

Draft sample at MBGSF 2011. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate earthy hop and toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Complex drinkable brew.

On tap at MBGSF 2011. Pours a clear amber with a white head. Fruity aroma with caramel and butterscotch. Flavor also has fruity overtones, with banana, herbal hops, and butterscotch in there.

deyholla (6746) - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA - OCT 25, 2010
Sampled from the tap at the 2010 MBG Fall Fest. Poured a near clear orange gold with a near white head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma was full of grassy hops with some hay and malt backing. Flavor was very grassy as well with a hay backing. Smooth beer but left a little something to be desired.

Silphium (3176) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUL 8, 2009
On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Hazy straw-brown body, medium tight buff head. Light nose with grape, caramel, leafy hops, and alcohol. Body with sweet, tart grape notes backed by grassy, bitter hops. Odd, almost cloying beer, notable for its strangeness if not its quaffability.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2011 On tap at Sherwood. Pours a slightly amber orange with medium off-white head. Aroma of mild hops, grass, and an herbal presence I cannot place. Flavor matches, but is very refreshing. Altogether very enjoyable and refreshing. Don’t know that this is something to seek out, but definitely a nice beverage anyway.
