5%ABV. American Pale Ale. Tapped out with a thin head of pale white foam. The color was a pale clear gold reminiscent of a clean laager. Color was about 5ºSRM. The nose had aromas of pepper, mint and other aromatic herbs like Thai basil. It also had an ethereal floral element, which provoked a persistent image of orchids. The palate was lightly carbonated with a strong malty body. A very neatly hop-balanced ride with a silky-smooth finish. Very pleasant.

Excellent stuff, close cousin to the well-made Shiga Kogen IPA and House IPA. Nice strawberry-banana aroma, taste much more bitter than expected -- very satisfying!

Tap at Swan Lake Pub Edo, Tokyo. Hazy golden shade. Short white head. Interesting light tropical aroma. Citra maybe? Taste is dry and grassy like a savannah. Maybe that’s why it’s ’African’, who knows. Slightly buttery slant to the taste. I’d appreciate a bit of sweetness but I can respect it how it is.

Bottle at shinshu osake mura, shinbashi. seems like an ordinary ipa to me. For ab american style ipa it has moderate bitterness and hop flavour and aroma. decent but unexceptional.

Bottle, 04/08/2015. Pours pale straw color, sparkling, thin white head. Aroma bright and hoppy, grapefruit, citrus, light touch of toasted caramel. Taste is again bright citrus hops, crisp pine bitterness. Light body, refreshing. Quite nice.

Pours quite pale, nice white foam. Aroma very fresh, lots of herbal hops, full of citrus. Taste is quite light loaded with citrus and grapefruit flavours again Quite thing body, so letting these citrus aromas to come out especially nicely. Still easily drinking, another nice one from Shiga Kogen.

33 cl bottle in Ji Buru, Singapore. Hazy, approximate, hoppy pale ale with few if any allusions to Africa. That said, it is a fruity, adequately hopped session beer that almost rocks. (Late at night: excuse the absence of detail.)
