Bottle at shinshu osake mura, shinbashi. seems like an ordinary ipa to me. For ab american style ipa it has moderate bitterness and hop flavour and aroma. decent but unexceptional.

33 cl bottle in Ji Buru, Singapore. Hazy, approximate, hoppy pale ale with few if any allusions to Africa. That said, it is a fruity, adequately hopped session beer that almost rocks. (Late at night: excuse the absence of detail.)

Bottle from Asahiya served in a footed pilsner glass. It pours a light copper gold with a very minimal head that vanishes in a blink. It has a really nice herbal and pine cone dank hop bouquet. Medium bodied with a somewhat watery mouthfeel. The taste is sweet malts and peppery pine - decent.

Bottle from Yamaoka Sake Shop. Slightly bitter aroma, hay and alcohol. Cloudy orange/yellow haze. Surprising hop kick up front, citrus bitter. Nice body, not syrupy, light and crisp. This is a great beer for the summer. The finish leaves you wanting another sip.
