Creamy oily beige head on top of a glowing coppery orange body. Creamy, bready, and piney nose is amazingly balanced. Toasted biscuits and citrus rind. Firm mouthfeel with a little tingle, very herbal and vegital hops with a firm carmel backbone. Hides 8.2% very well. Very well balanced, hard to believe its a double IPA. Finishes bready and softly bitter.

Aroma: fragrant pine, orange zest, apricot, some mango, yeast. Palate: superb balance of malt, and aroma and bittering hops. Clean, delineated flavors, full mouth feel with a very long balanced fruity and hoppy finish. Flavor: pine, orange, apricot, and orange peel. Finishes with long fruity malt and firm, but not excessive bittering. Comment: fresh bottle from a reliable shop. World class IPA.

Tap at Beer Republic Yokohama. Clear, orange colour. Small beige head. Aroma orange marmalade, very fruity, touch of grapefruit bitterness. Quite malty bit of spice. Taste nice and fruity, orange again, ginger. Really nicely balanced. Maybe watermelon. Some sherbet too. Really nice. Hides the percentage well. Nice texture, not too full on but has a body to it.

Pours an orange color with a white head. Nose is quite catty and grassy. Some floral notes, light citrus character, and biscuit malt. A little bit of green melon, too. Taste is a bit cleaner. Grass, citrus peel, and melon. Some bread malt flavor, moderate bitterness on the back end with mild malt flavor and sweetness.

355mL shared by KyotoLefty at RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours clear yellow with medium head. Sticky lacing. Nose is onion, melon, cantaloupe. Simcoe? Taste is bitter, melon heavy, lavender soap, rich cantaloupe. Palate is clean, a bit chewy. Pretty decent. Better than a lot of American DIPAs. Thanks Mark!

Bottle from Shinshu Osake Mura, thanks to TimE for directions. Bottle pours deep rusty orange, thin white head. Nose is lots of orange peel, citrous juice, grapefruit bitter, orange sherbet. There’s pine tang on the finish but it’s not resiny, but citrous fruity, with some caramel and orange peel. Very nice.

No head, pale orange-yellow beer. Flowery hops, suggesting serious bitterness, citrussy. Bitter, resiny & piney hops, but not really harsh. Orangepeel finish. Not heavily bodied at all, but sufficient, slick, oily; well-carbonated. More than decent IPA. Again a good example of what is happening in Nippon.
