Bottle at Den Gode Nabo, Trondheim. Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of good malty caramel with a fresh hop addition. Taste is smooth and light malty with some nice hops. Quite mild and easy drinkable beer. Ordinary and good beer.

Draft at Ushi Tora (Tokyo). A light black/brown colour. A nice light palate, quite refreshing, with a simple dark malt flavour. Seemed pretty mild to me - and there’s nothing wrong with that!

Bottle, at Patricks. It’s an unclear brown beer topped by an off-white head. Some cellar and chocolate in the aroma, quite malty, with some hops, but they are a bit anonymous. Well balanced aroma though. The flavor has a nice chocolate touch, malty sugar and a balancing bitterness. Full body. Bitter finish with chocolate. I enjoyed drinking it, but it’s definately not a big beer in any way, and obviously a bit aged. 100213

Bottle at Håndverkerstuene. Malt, caramel, full body. Quite sweet. Grain and malt ok, but it lacks a little more edge.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2010 Bottle @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours a red, slightly hazy body with virtually no head. Nose is mild herbal hops, taste is smooth dark malts with hints of hoppy licorice. Oily palate. Maybe I’m a bit harsh on this. After all, mild ales aren’t exactly my specialty. Moreover, I probably let my expectations be somewhat too lofty, but considering this is a world-spanning brewery collaboration between to highly reputed breweries I do not feel entirely unjustified. Nevertheless, my intuition tells me this is a pleasant, but rather dull creation. Time, along with genre assertiveness, could prove me wrong.

Small offwhite head does not last. Deep dark hazy red body. Malty spicy peppery aroma with fruity notes. Dry-sweetish earthy fruity peppery taste with roasty grainy notes. Mild mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry peppery dusty roasty aftertaste with fruity wooden notes. Quite bitter. Nice, but actually fairly mild. (0.33l bottle, Håndverkerstuene.)

330ml bottle shared with KnutAlbert. Has got a Nøgne Ø mark on the label. Ruby-brown body, slightly hazy. A few bubbles on the surface. Aroma of shy, dry malts. Rounded taste of roasted caramel added by spiced fruits wrapped up in a bittersweet ending. Smooth and rather refreshing (Håndverkerstuene, Oslo 19.03.2010).
