2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the Kroger on Lamar. Golden pour with a huge white head that disappears almost immediately. Aroma is sweet and malty with a little citrus. Taste is wheat, a little bitterness, floral, and slick. Maybe with this Shiner will start making halfway decent beer again? God, I hope so.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a bright golden color with a very slight haze and a decent white head, but far short of what you’d expect from a wheat. Not much of a wheat bouquet, aroma is sweet malt and hop spice. Thirstquenching, smooth, but not very flavorful. Sweet malt and very minor hop bitterness dominate along with a slight wheat germ nuttiness, but none of the flavor characteristics typical of a weizen like banana and clove. Good, but far from memorable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A clear, light golden pour with white head. The aroma is pretty much all wheat. The light to medium body has a mildly sweet, malty taste with lively carbonation that leads to a clean finish. Not a bad session beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Crisp gold pour with a thin white head that disappears fast. Nose is german hops, followed by wheat, along with spent grains. Thin palate, flavor is heavy on the grain with light florals, and wheat in the end.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a orange gold with a small frothy white head that leaves good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a corn malt and caramel and cereal. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt and honey with a nice crisp finish. Easy to drink a good wheat, Happy 102!

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle. Description says: "special recipe that sits between a bright wheat beer and wheat wine ale"....Ummmm, I don’t think so....This taste like a pretty standard wheat ale. Aroma has some light citrus and acidic notes with signs of wheat malt. Flavor has a nice graininess, hints of citrus, very faint hints of honey, some wheat malt, light sweetness, a little metallic, subtle fruit notes, a nice little wheaty "Tang" I enjoy and a very small earthy bitter in the finish. Mouth feel is light body with high carbonation. Overall, not bad at all.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Easily the best beer these guys have ever made. I liuken it to a milder Abbey de Leffe Blonde. Loads of malt and smooth on the tongue. It’s easy to discount anything Shiner does, but I would hope that folks can be objective with this one.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
.bought a couple of singles at Kroger, drank at 6:30pm - 1/22/2011 ..
..Pours out a pale yellow gold, decent head on the pour but dies down to just a white ring, very light lacing ..
Light honey, hay, and the usual shiner yeast aromas..
Flavour is fairly simple, similar to the nose.. but what makes this drinkable- its alot cleaner than most Shiner beers..
Not bad and one of the better Shiner anniversary brews..
...You keep on using this word "jabroni" and... it’s awesome.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2011 Shiner needs a proofreader for their bottle blurbs. Just sayin’. Now, on to the review.
Bottle. Nose smells like apple, toast, and a faint buttery edge. Pours a brilliant gold with a light head. Definite wheat zip on the tongue, with a sweetness and hops on the close. The sweetness really does it in; I like sweet beers, but this one is reminiscent of generic pancake syrup. Finish is flat and mostly lifeless. Mostly mediocre, lacking depth and complexity; it’s a shame when a beer looks better than it drinks.
