3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black pour with reddish highlights. There’s a fizzy tan head that leaves a bit of lacing. The aroma is interesting. Chocolate and tobacco. The palate is rather thin with some bright carbonation. Burnt chocolate is the only way I can describe the flavor. There’s not much bitterness. Not a bad beer, but not too exciting.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle from shelf aroma, pours a thin black. Head is nondescript. Aromas of some light roast, light cocoa notes. Mouthfeel is thin. Taste is just ever so slightly bitter upfront and has a watery dry finish. Pretty average.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A deep, deep brown color, black in certain light, red at the edges. Not a ton of head, but a little.
Aroma is pleasantly nutty, roasted malts, dryer than I expected. Although there is a touch of sweetness, it is more bready. Again, complex for style.
Malt flavor is a tad smoky, almost in the realm of a Rauchbier, but just a little thinner on flavor, which makes sense due to the nature of it being a lager.
The feel is dry and ashy. This is a very solid black lager; I enjoy

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Good attempt at the style, roast grains come through in aroma and taste. Not overly bitter or heavy, toned down for the American palate, still a decent schwarzbier.

3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Now this tastes how I was hoping Kosmos Reserve was going to taste. Has the strong dark malt/coffee taste. Not too overbearing, will sit on your tongue and increase the flavor as you let your senses open up to it. Just the right a!out of hop bitterness, this one is a winner in my book.

2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nov. 26, 2013; 12 oz. bottle from Shiner sampler pack. Appetizing pour - dark color, sturdy head & lacing. Chocolate, vaguely-veggie flavor. Session-worthy, if not outstanding (or offensive) in any respect.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pour 24, Las Vegas, 01/11/13. Headless cola looks. Decent coal, Twiglet-stirred, yeast extract nose. Souring and very buttery with rusty iron, grilled veg, heavy, eye-watering fizz. Dark choc digestive afters. Off? Undrinkable, certainly- some got jettisoned on the casino floor.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. A bit thin for my tastes, but nice notes of dark roasted malts, and a very, very, mild hint of hop. Not bad.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
12 oz bottle, poured a dark mahogany with a tan head that quickly faded. Roasted malts up front.... High carbonation covered up everything else. I would not drink this again.
