Pours a pale yellow with a fizzy head that’s fairly large. Nose of grains and little else. Taste is fresh and sweet. Fizzy carbonation tickles the tongue. Very slight hop finish.

Not bad compared to the other Shiner beers I have had. A little off balance with the bitterness.

Can split with Curly and ScottyP at the Impromtu Woody’s Ticker Tasting. Very clear very pale straw with ring of offwhite head. Sweet corn aroma is clean. Fakely sweet in flavor. Very faint grassy hop, but more sweet than anything. Medium thin body with medium carbonation. I think I’d rather have a bud over this.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 jr1610 (19) - San Marcos, Texas, USA - JUN 7, 2009
Aroma is malty with some grassy notes and hops. Appearance is a slightly transparent yellow with a slight white head that disappears. Flavor is of malt and slight, slight hops. basically "cheapdark" nailed the review, can’t top that. But because it lacks anything that sets it apart from say, Fosters, I can’t give this abovt the average rating. Not bad tho.

Two 12 oz bottles in a bug glass mug. The last of six shiner styles in my family pack. I enjoyed this case. $1.20 per bottle. This beer is just plain old pale lager looking with little visible carbonation when poured and none once in the glass, appears mystically quiet. Smells a little of J&L aliquippa slag. Despite the absents of visible carbonation, there is a good carbonated bite on the tongue. Does not come across with that typical sharp pilsner bite so commom in in this style, and I like that. Enjoyable a fresh, good intial experiences. Haylike and well behaved in many aspects. Lovely tingling sensations in the mouth and down the throat. Goes down a llittle easier than I thought it would. This beer seems to lack the background shiner hints that are so prevalent in the other five shiner styles I’ve tasted. Finish is clean fresh and enjoyable with a slight sizzling citrus impression. Though clean and fresh as many mass lagers, this is better in its own way. Good to the last drop!

This was the first shiner product I had, which was before my Ales conversion. A great lighter beer, better than any macro light. Smooth and crisp taste, no real aftertaste, but a very drinkable beer, good for the summer time or BBQ’s, I would buy this beer again.
4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 lllChirslll (10) - Texas, USA - MAY 14, 2009
Notes: A great beer to have with a burger and fries. Goes down smooth and stands high above other mainstream lagers.
A: Yellow & Gold with a decent firm head.
S: Smells of cereal and other grain.
T: A hint of malt, cereal, and grian that is not to overpowered and not to subtle; Has a nice balance of sweetness and has a very low bitterness rate.
D: Excellent drinkability. Very smooth.

Overall Impression:
Golden color, boring taste even for the style.
**Caveat: Not a huge fan of most Blondes, so don’t judge from me.
