2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Heathen (1241) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - JUN 11, 2011
THOUGHTS: Just like Yuengling and Leinenkugel it’s a step up from the macros, but not a very big step. Nice and refreshing.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a light yellow with an average, white, head that mostly diminished. The aroma had moderate cracker and light-colored bread, and moderate to heavy grassy hops. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was light to somewhat sweet and light to somewhat bitter with a fairly short duration. There was grain, sour malt, some grassy hops, floral hops and cracker. The light body was fairly watery with very fizzy carbonation and a metallic finish.
1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 Sammer (692) - Plano, Texas, USA - JUN 8, 2011
Looks like white wine. Tastes like flavored water. Really, just nothing there. Pass.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 AndresTM (130) - Texas, USA - JUN 2, 2011
Eh. Grainy aroma with some corn, a bit of a floral sour on the flavor, not much of anything, though.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 ronaldtheriot (362) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - MAY 29, 2011
Shiner Blonde has a medium, white head and a clear, straw appearance, with a good amount of bubbles streaming up. Little lacing is left behind. The aroma is faint, but some indistinguishable light grains can be picked up. Taste is balanced, with sweet grain predominating and just a slight hop bitterness present. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Shiner Blonde finishes crisp, refreshing, and highly drinkable. Overall, I will say it’s worth trying.

2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Bif (529) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAY 23, 2011
Bottle- Pours a clear pale yellow with no real head and no lacing. Aroma is very faint, just a slight hint of grain. Not musty. Taste is quite mild, just a hint of grain and some sweetness. Light body, crisp and clean. Quite refreshing. Probably best as a lawnmower beer. Just an average pale lager.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 benfergy (147) - Valley City, North Dakota, USA - MAY 18, 2011
The Shiner Blonde is rather subtle, but it has a good, strong yeast aroma. A slight bit of sweetness is there too. The palate is just what a lager should be(light and smooth). Good beer from Shiner, strictly better than the typical macro-lager.
3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 SPDickerman (323) - Texas, USA - MAY 3, 2011
Pours clear, pale gold with no head whatsoever. Smells just like a typical lager pilsener. Tastes less like a typical pilsener but more like a blonde or golden ale, faint hops and mild malts. Light-bodied with a fluid texture and present mouth-carbonation, Shiner Blonde finishes crisp and clean.
