2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a light straw color. The head is a typical-looking one finger white shade. It seems to retain itself more strongly than others in the style, which isnít saying much.
S: Unfortunately, itís not far off (at all) from a typical adjunct lager here. Notes of corn and cooked veggies emanate from the aroma. These notes arenít as strong as they are in, say, Bud; if they had a healthy backing of hops behind them I could easily view this as a pre-pro pils and be done with it - alas, itís not the case. Meh.
T: Flavors are as straightforward as they can be - some sweet cream and a touch of corn. No cooked veggies from the aroma are here, thankfully. If this does anything right, itís the fact that the adjunct notes here arenít as off-putting like theyíd be in a typical BMC product. Actually, my main problem here stems back to what I said about the aroma: where are the hops? The malt backbone is perfectly acceptable for the style, but without any balancing hops, itís simply too sweet.
M: Typical of a lager, itís light and easy to drink. But it finishes too sweetly, and as such, isnít as quaffable as it could be.
O: This seriously needs more hoppiness to it. Whatís sad is that this missing feature is all that stands between Shiner Blonde being just another crappy AAL (which it is) and a wholly solid pre-pro pils. A shame, really.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours yellow and clear. Aroma is grainy., not unpleasant. Taste is lightly malty, a bit sweet, barely perceptible hops I think. Decent carbonation but thin.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours crystal clear bright golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of cracker, biscuit, light toast, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, biscuit, light toast, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly bready/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is a nice pale lager style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Crystal clear light gold. Almost fully dissipating white head. Grain, grass, corn, with a mild honey sweetness. Bigger Light body. Carbonation is crisp enough. Mild grassy bitterness. Fine for a premium lager, not offensive, but not something Iím compelled to come back to.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Not much of an aroma, taste like a slightly higher quality bud light, a litghter PBR. Not terrible, but just a íbeerí Leaves a slightly rotten taste in your mouth like cheap beer, but not as bad as cheap ber.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Mom picked up a variety case while visiting my Uncle in Texas. This was labeled as Shiner Premium Beer. A very typical American lager. Light golden color with a white head. A somewhat soapy aroma. Easy drinking without a much flavor. A summer lawn mowing beer.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
pours clear very light golden with a small white cap, some retention and lacing. lots of apple fruitiness - unsweetened apple sauce, pale cereals - some husks and cheap white bread, corn, ginger candies, musty white grapes - their juice; almost rotten fruitiness - over-ripened pear juice; grassy and spicy, cardboard traces. light carbonation, light body, balanced and almost crisp herbal-grassy finish. past its prime perhaps, but far from horrid.
