Caramel colored pour from bottle with a fizzy, non-lasting head. Aroma is malt and shoe store leather. Taste is also malt and shoe store leather. Enough said.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear, dark copper color with very little head. The aroma is biscuits, caramel, and musty lager yeast. The flavor is very sweet up front, and tapers to a musty sweetness in the finish. The palate is light to medium, fairly carbonated, and clean. Overall, a good, simple beer.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2011 Dark, mellow, and very drinkable. The aroma is mostly malty with notes of caramel, but the flavor lacks bitterness. Nice, if shy, taste of sweet malts. Thin body. Surprisingly pleasant aftertaste of dried fruits and caramel. This beer stops short of being great: you can tell the malts are really tasty, and it would be a really good beer if it weren’t so light. I guess, however, it’s a beer that’s meant to be consumed in significant quantities.

From 12oz bottle. Light body, nice crisp texture. Watery, malty caramel aroma. Sweet taste.

Poured from bottle. Bread aroma with a bit of gas. Mahogany color with a thin white head. Caramel toasted nut flavor. A bit watery - could use more flavor but really not too bad.

The Shiner Bock has the color of a very bold shade of amber. The aroma is quite yeasty (although the yeast aroma is kinda generic), along with a strong scent of alcohol. As I sip, the caramel aroma comes out. The taste is balanced, with no taste bud standing out. Average body strength, and some bite in the palate. Overall, this is really an average beer, I really didn’t find anything that it was extreme in or even notable in. It’s still ok to drink, of course.

On tap in a few places in the Lone Star State... still waiting until they secede. Very little head, very little aroma too. Mouthfeel is quite lite but drinkable. Not much to say about this one’s flavor. Kinda sweet, kinda salty... Very drinkable beer and a great alternative to the macros. Kinda like the Yeuingling of the South y’all!

pours a deep brown color with lively carbonation and a head that fades instantly. aroma is typical German malts. taste is a cheap and highly carbonated version of a typical German dark lager. not impressive but not terrible.
