crajun (89), , Texas, USA Feb 22, 2009 Used to be my go to beer....
Much more watery and bland than I remember - both in taste and palate.
Still goes down smooth dirkbag (3), Oregon, USA does not count Feb 22, 2009 This is flat out my favorite beer. I am biased, being born and raised in Texas. But outside of centuries old German breweries, I can not find anything that I like as much. thejon375 (390), Tampa, Florida, USA Feb 22, 2009 Decent beer to start off the night with. Good flavor. Good color. Good finish. Recommend to anyone to start the night. larsniclas (3383), Gothenburg, Sweden Feb 20, 2009 Draught at some pizza-place in SF
Hazy red-brown with a small, tan head.
Vinous and sweet aroma. Slightly sourish as well.
A bit too thin body.
Pretty fresh with vinous maltiness. ljstephenson (111), Lawton, Oklahoma, USA Feb 13, 2009 Clear amber pour with a moderate white head, very roasted overtones, doesn’t hide the alcohol well, Shiner needs to recreate this one. BroSpud (586), , Massachusetts, USA Feb 13, 2009 I drank several of these on a visit to Austin, TX and was really surprised how much I liked it. While I wouldn’t consider it a premium beer it’s definitely not bad. Good color and taste. Quite drinkable. BeerBunker (607), Burbank, Illinois, USA Feb 10, 2009 Pours a deep red/brown color with an off-white head. Heavy carbonation. Aroma is of caramel, grain, malt, and nuts. Taste is of grain, malt, corn, and caramel malt. Has an overall earthiness to it. Body is light and the mouthfeel is extremely watery. Has just enough to the taste to make it uoffensive and drinkable. Not the best, but about average. Cavie (1318), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Feb 5, 2009 This is one of my all-time favorites, a standard at any pub in Texas. A nice dark american lager with plenty of taste and DRINKABILITY! Hooray for current affairs quotes.
