Barreras (121), Diamond Bar, California, USA Jan 31, 2009 I liked this beer. Rich brown color with a medium head. Drinkability is very refreshing and do enjoy this beer when I’m sitting at home watching tv. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 26, 2009 12oz bottle acquired in trade with lb4lb (thanks!). Poured a medium and clear amber color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of some earthiness, roasted caramel, and nuts. Tastes of the same but thinner and somewhat watery. Body was thin and watery as well. GodOfThunder (855), Orlando, Florida, USA Jan 26, 2009 It isn’t bad. Actually, it is pretty good for a session. Light, refreshing and a good amount of malt. Nothing really wrong with it. Kenbeer30 (41), Texas, USA Jan 22, 2009 This beer is good looking in a glass, but does not keep any head, and does not lace the glass. It looks like it will have a rich mouthfeel, but comes across as watery. Additionally, the corn used in the wort is discernable, and does not taste very good. This beer is good for college parties, but not so much for entertaining guests. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jan 21, 2009 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear copper color with a two finger tan head. The aroma wass bland, but notes of caramel and toffee are present. The flavor was nutty with toffee and a bit of chocolate also. The palate average with a silky mouthfeel and good carbonation. aletales (73), , Oklahoma, USA Jan 18, 2009 I really do like this beer. I have to agree that it is not a gourmet beer like a great trappist ale or a wonderul stout, but it is refreshing. the carbonation is nice and active and its flavor isn’t thick and overwhelming. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jan 4, 2009 16 oz. - $4.00 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a clear, mahogany-hued body with a thin, whitish head.
Smell: Watered-down, run-of-the-mill nutty caramel nose.
Taste: Faintly toasty maltiness with a light taste of caramel and an ambiguous nuttiness. Lightly spicy hops and even less apparent bitterness. A revolting metallic component leeches into the flavor -- always a turn off. Finishes dry with a crisp carbonic bite.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation, a tad bit fizzy.
Drinkability: A plain, dull lager, but when you throw in that metallic mouthful of nickels and pennies, you’ve totally lost me. robforbes (1083), Bremerton, Washington, USA Jan 3, 2009 pours a clear copper with a medium size light beige head, and some lacing.
smell is faint, caramel, malt, and a touch of roasted nuts.
taste is creamy, malt, a touch of cocoa, nuts, and toffee, ends a little dry, becomes watery as it warms.
