Deep copper color with a thin white head. Very subtle malt and German yeast aromas. Sweet malt, German yeast, with a hint of bitterness. Overall not much flavor.

Served in a pilsner glass.
Pours a light mahogany color with a good mount of reddish tint to it. Initial three-finger head looks quite nice but dies down really quickly into a slight layer of foam along with a dot of lacing here and there but really not much. The nose is some slightly-roasted malt as well as a bit of toast. Some light nutty character plus a fair amount of caramel. There are some slight earthy notes there as well.
The taste is a bit oxidized with a bit of cardboard. Some toast in there with caramel, plus a light earth feel. It tastes like I imagine wet leaves would. Wow. The nose was decent enough but this taste is really not very good at all. There’s an off-bitterness in the feel as well. Thin and gross. The appearance and nose weren’t too shabby, but it just goes way, way downhill after that.

Bottle served in a flare pilsner. Pours translucent amber-brown in color with a short off-white head. Basic malty sweet aroma. Medium sweet flavor. Medium-light bodied, easy drinking amber lager. A nice session beer.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 brigg (361) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - APR 10, 2011
(bottle) Clear, dark mahogany with a medium, disappearing and "fizzy" head. Has a nice caramel malt aroma, sweet with a touch of tartness. The flavor is less appealing: sort of one-dimensional mild malt; finishes like many other macro lagers, but brings a little more up front. Body is thin.
When I lived on the Texas-Mexico border for a year this was about the best thing I could get in the area, so drinking it now was a nice trip down memory lane...if nothing else.

Poured from draft into a dimpled mug, it is meh in a glass. You can also find this beer in very overpriced six packs if you want. Sort of sweet corn, metallic, soft, mildly refreshing. The draft I had was not very good, I had a bottle recently that was better. Adjunct macro bock.

Its kind of drinkable, and a little decent. Kind of. Sweet. Somewhat metallic? Corn? Lightly bitter finish. Texans are extremely proud of this beer. Its like being proud of Checkers; sure, you could be eating McDonalds, but who gives a fuck at that point? Just go and get wasted.

Pretty decent lager. It is amber with a small head. Aroma is malt with a bit of hops. The flavor is lagerish, crisp and clean. Good for the warm weather. A thirst quencher.
