COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Is a distinctive, rich, full-flavored, deep amber-colored beer with an inviting smooth taste without excessive bitterness.

An OK beer. Some malt sweetness to it, with a little caramel too. No real hops to speak of. Almost a Michelob after-taste. I agree that it is a little thin on taste, too, for a bock.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2003 Here in Texas, this widely available bock is a staple of beer drinkers looking for something a little bit better than coors or bud. Amber color and mild spicy flavor certainly work for this beer but the head is course and foamy like the popular aformentioned macrobrews. Besides Guiness, this is probably one of the better beer's you'll find at your local convenience store. This beer compares to AB's Ziegen Bock. I find Shiner a little bit spicier, though.

Dark amber to light coffee in color. Littke head, low carbonation. Aroma of malt and brown sugar. Thin tasting, maybe some carmel, aftertaste is a little harsh.

One of my all time favorites but I admit that I am biased because it is the beer that got me through college! It goes great with German food, Jerry Jeff Walker, Mexican food, Joe Ely, Hamburgers, Eric Johnson, and is the preferred depanting device of young coeds at Southwest Texas State University.

Nothing like a European bock.More like an American pale ale.Had a hoppy aroma.Crisp flavor with some caramel sweetness.

When you get drunk enough, Shiner is your beer. This beer has a quality where it seems to taste better the more you drink of it. The initial mouth flavor and feel is awful, almost like there is bugspray in the beer - then again, maybe there is. Avoid this stuff.

I don’t know if you can call this a bock just because the label says so. It’s better than Bud.

Better than Bud, better on tap than bottle, not as malty as I would like.
