This is a very easy beer to drink. The fact that this is considered a bock is what suprised me. I think this should be classified a hot weather-bock (if there were such a thing.) This to me is more like a beer you could enjoy while mowing your lawn. Shiner Bock posesses qualities of both American Standard and heavier European style brews. The bad thing is, Shiner Bock isn't sold in most northern states.

This beer is just sort of average -- a little better than typical american standard, but not as good as one might anticipate. Nice amber color, no head, weak (almost nonexistant) aroma, and the taste did not wow me.

love this beer. great beer from the little brewery in shiner texas. this is by far my favorite beer. nice dark color, full of flavor. you can't go wrong with a shiner in your hands. take it to the river with some friends and have fun! i go to college at Southwest Texas State University and i can tell you, shiner bock is widely loved by all.

cAPSLOCK (156) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 17, 2003
The aroma is similar to most North American mass produced beer. Pretty color, and much darker in looks than taste. It is easy to drink and unremarkable for the most part. Not really a bock.. more of a 'Dark American Standard' I might even prefer it's regional imitation (from A/B I think?) Ziegen Bock.

Dark brown colour, has some decent malt in the nose. . . the flavour is sour and very unlike a real bock - though not all that great, I prefer it to many other mass produced beers.

Nice some what golden color, malty aroma mild hops and the taste was very disappointing not much there at all for taste everything was mild at best, and the ABV.how sad i was kind of looking for a little kick there but it's just to damn low.I can't believe i paid shipping to get this one in to the great white north,But it had to be tried and for it it deserves what it gets a less then average rating.

I wonder HOW and WHY this beer is shipped from TX to Kitty Hawk, NC? Tasty malts - caramel, but leans towards the syrupy side. Very slight hops at the end. Easy drinkin' with no thinkin'.

This is what u pick when the other choices are Bud & Miller. Nothing at all like a bock, but it does somewhat resemble beer.

This is about as good an imitation of a bock as "Texan" GWB is an imitation of a president. Thin, corn-syrupy-sugary, zero hops, drinkable and better than Lone Star but extremely boring.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2009 On tap at the Houston airport. Sweet, no head, dark and reminicent of Big Rock Trad. A nice session beer. Had a bottle in a world of beer pack. I still not a bad beer.
