Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pilsener glass. The appearance was a nice looking dark brown color with a good two fingered white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace and left some light somewhat clingy lacing in its wake. The smell had a nice amount of dark chocolate malts with a light banana in there as well. The taste was nice and malty sweet (chocolate and banana comes through nicely). On the palate, this one is about a medium in the body with a decent sessionable aspect about it. Overall, I say this was a good Bock. Maybe not an outstanding one, but it fits the bill.

12 oz bottle from the six type summer sampler case. Lightly hopped with a medium body and some molasses. Surprised this wasnít so bad. Good antidote for the summer heat.

Poured from 12oz can into pint glass. Appearance: pours a 1" off white head that drops quickly with no lacing. Color is a clear rich amber with mild streaming carbonation. Aroma: very mild aroma, pick up a bit of toasted malt and caramel sweetness. Mouthfeel: light and frothy with a somewhat dry finish. Flavor: caramel is the dominate flavor along with some toasted bread crust and a bit of lemon hops. Overall: a pleasant, easy drinking bock.

12oz bottle from a Tops store in Hamburg, NY. Copper coloured with a trace of white head; faint malty aroma; sweet caramel malt taste; and a rather thin dry finish. Quietly innocuous.

NOt bad at all. Really like some of these hocks on the lighter side cause they can get a little to carby and rich. This one might not have as much malty flavor but approachable and plenty of flavor.

Shiner Bock is a solid amber beer. It makes no pretentions of being hoppy or sophisticated, but presents a malt forward, full-bodied, smooth amber beer. This stuff makes some good bread and pairs well with most any American or Mexican food.

Bottle. Dark, clear amber with a faint head. Aroma is slight - toasted malt and some grass; fresh. Slightly sweet taste, mild malt flavor; smooth with just a hint of bitterness; nice effervescence. Not a great beer, certainly mild to be called a bock, but a good beer nonetheless. Iím partial though since I used to throw back a lot of these at the local icehouse in Houston after work. :)

This beer is light on the pallet. Not really my style as Iím a stout or hop guy.

Shiner Bock bottle poured into pint glass. Dark amber color almost thought I was about to drink a George Killian's Irish Red. It does taste similar but to me better than the Killian Brew. It's a decent brew.
