jeff789 (360), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 15, 2009 Aroma is a bit burnt, not appetizing at all, i cant place the smell, but it certainly isnt very traditional... Smells a bit like used deep fryer oil... clear dark amber... Sweet, malty, not hoppy, tastes better than it smells... average at best, medium bodied, watery finish... rollingwood (8), Maryland, USA does not count Oct 14, 2009 12 ounce bottle. Uncloudy, brown color. Fizzy, unnatural looking, ’soda-pop’ carbonation led to a quickly dissipated head; no hop or malt aroma. Watery mouth feel with really no characteristic hop or malt flavor at all in the attack or finish. It reminded me of weak, sweet tea. I was really disappointed with this beer, having heard of it for years. Maybe I got a bad 6-pack, or maybe it is better on tap. But if offered it again, I’d choose water. andyhwcinc (35), Illinois, USA Oct 13, 2009 This is a pretty popular beer that I’m surprised I have yet to try. Pretty average honestly, malty with little head but a decent finish. keidjxz (41), Irvine, California, USA Oct 11, 2009 Pours a fairly dark amber with a very subtle aroma. It has a mild malt flavor with a little bitterness and decent carbonation. gsmitty80 (630), Washington DC, USA Oct 9, 2009 Good cheap beer. Have drank a few of these in my time and they are not a true bock, as the style says that it is an American Dark Lager. pineypower (1077), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Sep 16, 2009 Bottle thanks to Colin. Pours out a clear deep shade of amber with a small white head. Sweet sticky malts and caramel on the nose. Taste is much the same, very sweet, lots of caramel and sweetness, hops are probably there, but I cant’ find many of them. For a mass distributed beer, not bad. italianjohn (338), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 15, 2009 Clear dark amber pour little white head no aroma taste of caramel and alcohol nothing special but not bad kinda bready aroma and taste Hopper (277), San Antonio, Texas, USA Sep 8, 2009 A brown beer with a fast disappearing head. Not much aroma, some malt. The taste is smooth, & a clean tasting beer that is better on tap & is best served ice cold
