manic114 (5), The Woodlands, Texas, USA does not count May 23, 2008 This is an amazing beer. It has a nice, dark appearance (which I love). Taste is just absolute, and if you are in Texas, you will find this beer. v64 (74), Austin, Texas, USA May 22, 2008 Pours dark brown/amber, small head, dissipates quickly. Not much of an aroma, definitely can detect the malt. Nothing unique about the taste, malty, very slight roasted flavor. Not bitter at all, tastes smooth. It’s good for the price, definitely one of the best you can get at a typical bar. ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA May 22, 2008 pours dark amber color with off white head. head retention is a minimum. flavor is malty. if i am out bowling or something like that this is what i get. this is one of the less expensive beers that i enjoy drinking. rcasta (470), El Salvador May 19, 2008 esta la probe en college ero ni me acuerdo, solo se que probablemente fue en el sur de los unais.
es una de esas que no me llamo mucho la atencion porque no le ponemos coco a estas cosas en esa epoca btbullard (8), Fort Worth, Texas, USA does not count May 16, 2008 In many TEXAS roadside beer barns this is the only premium beer available. But its still one of the best options at places with 100 brews on tap.
In each bottle the great taste is accompanied by 99 years of Texas history and tradition.
I’ve been to the tiny brewery in the middle of nowhere. And its a place as TEXAN as Luckenbach, Stubb’s BBQ, or the Ft Worth stockyards.
For those of you who tasted it and just "didn’t get it." Come to Austin; drink one as you float down the guadalupe! General66 (164), Streator, Illinois, USA May 15, 2008 12 ounce bottle. I have read in a few magazines that Shiner Bock was a decent brew. Therefore I had moderateely high expectations for this one. I am sad to say that this did not live up to its hype. It poured a copper color with a half finger width white head that disappeared very quickly. There was not much to the aroma... very subtle malts with a metallic undertone. The taste is also pretty bland... the only thing I could pick out is subtle caramel malts. VERY light mouthfeel. For what it is, this is a decent brew. Absolutely nothing exciting about it though. Gypsy19 (602), California, USA May 15, 2008 A decent yet uncharismatic beer. Could be a littler higher in alcohol, in my opinion. Drinkable, yet there are so many better beers in this style. tylerss20 (101), New Hampshire, USA May 14, 2008 This is a very doable beer in a lot of aspects. No one trait makes it great. But in Oklahoma/Texas, this is often the only legit option to American macros in bars(lone star? come on). But my friends obsessed with this brew need to branch out. It is only a better than average, and the mouthfeel was harsh to me. Perhaps it is better on draft.
