esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Mar 16, 2008 12oz bottle. Reddish amber, large frothy head that goes away fast. Spicy aroma, smooth malty finish, low carbonation, a little mouth stripping going on here. Somewhat devoid of flavor. It looks and smells good but ends up being a dud. RAYBOY01 (1812), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 15, 2008 Weird to find this served in a deli up on Montrose and Ashland. Dark amber pour. Grainy flavor...sweet and cloying. The bitterness is not only "not excessive" it is non-existant. Naka (524), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 12, 2008 Pours a dark amber color with very little head, but that could be because it was a really bad pour by the bartender. Nose of a caramely, grainy, malt sweetness. Kind of a flat taste. A little bit of bitter flavor, but there was just a weird skunk to it. Pretty thin body compared to what I think of as a bock. Hotch40 (7), Roswell, Georgia, USA does not count Mar 10, 2008 Great beer, if you like a amber lager, this is it, slightly hoppy but so nicely balanced iwth the carmel, honey and flavor of a "bock". Great for a few beers, then wears a bit thin, but hey what doesn’t...P.S. the old original bock, was a real bock, even better than this. long gone Outchillen (29), Pennsylvania, USA Mar 8, 2008 Great beer, great for any season. A light easy to drink bock. very mild taste, nice color and easy smooth finish. Also great for cooking Redseal94 (9), Lafayette, Indiana, USA does not count Mar 7, 2008 Had this while visiting Dallas. I don’t remember much about it, so its definitely a "no go" for me. jlucas5408 (18), USA Mar 7, 2008 Easily my favorite beer. Pours a dark amber color into a glass with a medium, quick dissolving head. Refreshing and light tasting yet robust with no hops. Finishes clean and smooth. Kands (20), USA Mar 4, 2008 I guess if you’re grading on the curve, this isn’t a terrible beer. But it isn’t a very good one, either. Poured from the bottle a tea-like brown, with an OK head. Overall impression of aroma and taste was of an average, if a bit stronger, Joe Six-Pack beer -- nothing really to either love or hate. Tasted bland and became flat very quickly. Not one we’d buy again.
