nicko117 (8), hickory, North Carolina, USA does not count Mar 2, 2008 This beer is good. The only problem with this is the bitterness issue. I think that if honey was added before fermentation that this would help increase the alcohol content as well as the taste. The price is decent for what your getting. My problem with this beer is that theres nothing quite spectacular about it. It never quite extinguishes itself from the pack. My beer needs to be exceptional in at least one area and this doesn’t quite meet this need.
The head on this beer was just above acceptable good color decent stay i was happy for it to leave to be honest i don’t enjoy drinking under it.
The aroma was one of beer. Then again thats what this i
The taste was good a little hoppy which was enjoyable after the 2nd one. It went down very smooth and was quite smooth and woody. mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Mar 2, 2008 When in Austin... drink a real Texas beer! Shiner Bock gives bargoers a decent alternative to the macro brews. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Mar 2, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear amber color with a thin off-white head that diminished rapidly. Very light aroma of caramel malt. Flavor consist mainly of light caramel notes with a biscuity finish and a hint of yeast. Not much going on, but it is easy to drink and is something I would choose over Bud/Coors. discbanshee (5), Alabama, USA does not count Mar 2, 2008 One of my favorite "cheap" beers. Pours a light amber color with a quickly disappearing head. Flavor is malty but goes down smooth. Not very easy to differentiate the flavors but overall a decent beer. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Mar 1, 2008 12 oz. bottle, pours a light brown with a hoppy malt flavor and somewhat bitter crisp finish DandyWolfFloyd (331), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 28, 2008 Lager lover, jump aboard. This Texas bock is not actually a bock, but it’s beautiful to the lager lover. I lived in Texas and this was champion. Back in PA, this is hard to find. It is akin to Yuengling in most respects, its aroma is almost not present. The appreance is the amber variety. The flavor is distinct, very smooth a little spice. The palate feel is very smooth. Again a lager so it’s not going to shock you. If you love watching a game with a beer in hand this is your partner. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA Feb 27, 2008 The sweet grainy and floral nose with a hint of wheat is refreshing but fades much too quickly. The fully diminishing off white frothy head leaves no lace. The brew pours a clear copper. As far as the beer’s thin flavor goes, now I know who AB ripped off when they introduced Michelob Amber Bock. Of course it’s been a while, MAB might be a tad sweeter and more sticky; I don’t really care to remember to be perfectly honest. A turd’s a turd whether it’s brown or black, ya feel me? At least it’s balanced and non-offensive for the macro masses. The light watery body is fizzy and crisp at the finish.
TheSponge (272), Lynnwood, Washington, USA Feb 25, 2008 Updated: Jun 22, 200912 oz. bottle. Pours a dark amber color. I’m actually surprised how dark it is, and although I’ve had Shiner Bock before, this is the first time I’ve poured it into a glass. Flavor: Smooth and malty.
