Choos (504), Taylors Hill, Australia Sep 3, 2007 Aroma: this actually smelled like socks to me. Appearance: reddish and clear I don’t remember there being a head but... Flavour: undrinkable to me, quite dirty something akin to the aroma. My rating for this was done a long time ago and I just found my notes but the taste remains with me. geezerbeer (3), USA does not count Sep 2, 2007 poured from a twistoff 12oz bottle. nice deep amber color, clear .looks better than it tastes but certainly not bad, a smooth lager. An oddly familiar high school flavor. Probably good on a hot summers day, blah blah blah. keith0718 (157), Olathe, Kansas, USA Sep 2, 2007 Someone told me this was a decent beer. I disagree. I’ve had worse, but this is barely above BudCoorsMiller. GlenVargas (120), El Paso, Texas, USA Sep 1, 2007 In terms of American dark lagers assuming the title of "bock," Shiner (bottle) is usually the best option; still, that’s not saying a whole lot. I don’t think there are any fundamental problems with Shiner, but I don’t think it’s that great. Maybe I’ve been drinking it for too long. Anyways, Shiner’s got some standard caramel and malt tastes, but a little too much bite from the carbonation. The aftertaste is bitter, but subsides very quickly. One of the things that stood out this last time was that Shiner had absolutely no discernible smell. I also hate how, even throughout most of Texas, Shiner is considered an import at bars. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 12/11/1995

bmw182tx (2), Grapevine, Texas, USA does not count Aug 31, 2007 This is my favorite beer for drinking with friends. The flavor is great and being from Texas theres nothing better than Shiner...I started drinking this beer because at most bars it is the only good beer to get. ChetLemmons (87), orlando, Florida, USA Aug 30, 2007 i would probably never seek this beer out in a bar, and would mostly likely try something new over buying this again. overall, it was nothing too impressive but is still better than typical keg beer. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA Aug 30, 2007 A good, classic Texas beer. Nice amber color. Plus the packaging is classic... photo of Spoetzl on the neck label and a ram on the body.
