I don’t think there are any fundamental problems with Shiner, but I don’t think it’s that great. Maybe I’ve been drinking it for too long. Anyways, Shiner’s got some standard caramel and malt tastes, but a little too much bite from the carbonation. The aftertaste is bitter, but subsides very quickly. One of the things that stood out this last time was that Shiner had absolutely no discernible smell. I also hate how, even throughout most of Texas, Shiner is considered an import at bars. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

The flavor is great and being from Texas theres nothing better than Shiner...I started drinking this beer because at most bars it is the only good beer to get. ChetLemmons (87), orlando, Florida, USA

The aroma is very malty with some caramel. Good lacing on this one. The taste is a light roasted malt with a smooth finish. A great texas brew. jexes23 (5), Texas, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 26, 2007 My everyday beer. Great beer for drinking at the house, provides more flavour than your average beer. HueyBryan (40), Rotan, Texas, USA
