Amber in color, smells a bit malty. If you have a choice between Bud, Miller, or Shiner, pick the Shiner. It’s much better.

Outside- good look, appeal Inside- pours small head, coloring is of a Coke almost, not as dark... Aroma- not strong, pleasantly present though Drinkability is great, smooth and refreshing Overall- A good beer on a warm, humid day... I did not like this beer 3 years ago and came back and tried it again, was really good.................. Not as good as I initially thought, but still solid, headache hangover if you drink over 5

Re-rate11-19-07 bottle. Funky malt aroma. Little to no real flavor. Watery and bland. Better than Bud Light - but nothing special. Thin brown color with no lasting head. Extra points overall because it is a Texas beer.

Smells of malt, caramel mostly with perhaps a tiny hint of hops. Pours a dark brown, clearish color with a bit of head. Carbonated well, with a fairly subdued taste at first, then a sweet, smooth malt finish. Fairly light bodied overall, easy to drink.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Nice medium amber color, almost as dark as a cola. The head was very fizzy and short lived. There’s not much ofan aroma - it’s not strong but it’s pleasant, weakly malty with hints of coffee. Nice malty flavor with a hint of honey sweetness. Pleasant to drink - not to sweet.

Good, solid, malty beer. Dark but refreshing and very drinkable. Hooray for Texas!

Granted, I drank this from a plastic cup while eatin barbecue, but found this beer to e somewhat fizzy and very weak tasting, especially for a bock.
