Bottle. Dark amber with whitish head. Not much in the nose but some hop and malt. Tastes rather bland for the style.

12oz. bottle. Pours reddish copper with short-lasting thin off-white head. Aroma mildly spicy. Taste is a surprise - sour bitterness grabs the attention upfront, which moderates after a couple sips. Thin body, very dry finish. Taste of dark malt and spices. Not bad, but I’ll pass on this one in the future.

A true grit Texas beer from a small American brewery in the tradition of Yuengling, Lonestar, Pearl, Olympia, etc. This beer costs roughly $5.99 a sixer and packs big taste and malty flavor for the price!

on tap. not to much to say about this one pours a caramel color with a thin white head and a touch of lacing. fairly carbonated with aroma of faint caramel, hops, and malt. flavor is the same as aroma with a little skunk to both. also has a light body, kind of a bad beer actually.

12 oz bottle into a pilsener glass. Pours with a deep red to brown body and rapidly diminishing light tan head. Aroma of DMS (cooked vegetables). Tastes of veggies again and a subtle maltiness with just enough bitterness to keep it from being sweet. No real hop aroma or flavor that I detected.

It had been perhaps 10 years since I last had this beer...which was a few years before I knew anything about beer. And while it was once a trade-up for me, it is no more. This bock is more like a mainstream lager than any other bock I’ve tasted. Aroma of this beer was of corn rather than malt, and its appearance was a pleasing clear red-brown with a minimal amount of head. Flavor was pretty lack-luster...not as corn-y as the aroma, but still not very malty for a bock. Mouthfeel was unremarkable, but I have a hard time imagining drinking more than 2-3 of these...not because they were flavored extremely strongly or because it is high in alcohol, but just because drinking it kind of made me want something else.
