COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Is a distinctive, rich, full-flavored, deep amber-colored beer with an inviting smooth taste without excessive bitterness.

Dark amber color, thick white head. A bit too much caronation reminds of coke. Aroma of caramel, malt, molasses, bread. A bit sweat caramel malt taste.

Shiner is another mediocre beer that I only tend to drink when it’s the only thing around. Its massive popularity in Texas is only justified by its other varieties (Shiner Black, for instance)--not Shiner Bock--in my opinion. The aroma is nothing special, and neither is the appearance. The taste is even keeled, with no bold flavors. It’s pretty light-bodied with a thin texture and a quick finish. It’ll wash down some Texas BBQ alright, but I wouldn’t drink it for enjoyment.

I tried to rate this overall, but it is difficult. I am biased towards a beer that doesn’t punch you in the mouth, guts, nose, or tongue. It seems that most beer ratings on here are biased towards three things: Thick Taste, Alcohol content, Dark color. For me it is the perfect beer, 10/10. But, in terms of drinkability: Sweet but light finish, bittersweet taste, doesn’t fill you up, easy palate cold or room temperature. Just right!
