Shiner is making a stretch calling this a bock. It is an ok beer, but seems more geared towards mass production than quality. I had it in the bottle in a bar/restaurant in Houston. It was a clear, amber color with low carbonation and a bitter-souer taste. Smooth on the palate, not much activity. The aroma was faint and mostly grainy hops, maybe some cereal and light on malt.

This beer calls itself a bock, but the taste is typical of a better-than-average American lager. Initially the carbination is prevalent, then settles into a cola-tasting beverage.

This beer was deceptive. When I saw the nice dark amber color I thought I was on to something good. Was I ever surprised! Bland and tasteless are the only 2 words I can think of to describe this beer.

The Budweiser of bock beers in my opinion. Light weak malty flavor. Minimal aroma. Not very interesting.

Bottle. Dark amber color, small head. Grainy, aroma with some hops. malty, caramel taste, some breadiness but leaves an unpleasant bitterness. A bit thin and macro tasting but not terrible.

Poured from the bottle a clear medium dark with a touch of red. Small white head with tiny bubbles and almost no lacing. Smells a bit malty and musty. Flavor is sweet, mildly grainy, with a slight hop and spice aftertaste. I prefer some of their other styles (Hefeweizen, Kolsch, Dunkelweizen) over this, but it’s still tasty.
