CliffInTexas (6), College Station, Texas, USA does not count Jan 26, 2007 In college, this was the beer everybody drank. People seem to over rate it, but it still is decent. Good pour color, thats about it. When its free, i drink it. BrandonB (87), Denton, Texas, USA Jan 26, 2007 Found on the $1 shelf as a can. Pours a nice amber color with a small off white head that disappears quickly. A light aroma with flavors of caramel, and maybe light bread. Decent mouth feel, though a bit light, even on the finish. Medium carbonation. kimcgolf (824), Dacula, Georgia, USA Jan 26, 2007 This beer was totally non-impressive. Poured very thin, to a pale amber color, with little head or lacing. I could not detect any aroma, and the taste, whatever was there, was not evident due to the watery texture and stale finish. I’d heard this was a good beer...obviously I was listening to the wrong people. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Jan 25, 2007 Tap at Barcade: Pours a clear, deep orangey golden topped by a white film. Sweet glazed malt aroma with some doughyness. The flavor is similiar. All the same as the aroma with some bready notes and a grainyness. Light bodied with barely any dryness in the finish. Nothing great. GriffinAvenue (395), Winchester, Massachusetts, USA Jan 20, 2007 Bottle. Crown-Royal like brownish red color. Light 1/4" head. Similar in aroma to domestic pilseners, which isn’t exactly an endorsement. Wheaty, somewhat grainy. Smooth, not sharp flavoring. Syrupy, wood-oak-like taste. Even finish with light report. Ok if nothing else is around. lweiberg (89), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Jan 19, 2007 First of all, fuck Texas. Now that I’ve got that out of the way, second of all, fuck Shiner Bock. greenhorn1 (458), Mission Viejo, California, USA Jan 17, 2007 On tap somewhere south Dallas. I did enjoy the nice clear amber color with a small head and medium carbonation. Hardly any aroma, taste was pretty watery with hints of sweet carmel. I think I also tasted wheat, or maybe it was grass. This is a very simple and non complex beer. It is a step up from the Coors and Buds of the world, but that is not saying much. bhensonb (4182), Woodland, California, USA Jan 17, 2007 Aroma of light malt, arguably a bit corny. Clear brownish amber color with a white head that quickly departed. Starts with a clean, light malt taste. Not finding much hop here. Carbonation a bit acidic, mouthfeel a bit thin. Not #1 on any list I have, but it won’t go down the sink drain.
