BeerloverEJ21 (131), Georgia, USA Oct 5, 2006 No head on the pour, a clear amber redish brown color. Initial smell, very aromatic, slightly floral, leather, fruity. Tastes of fruit, vineous. Slightly bitter. Decent aftertaste. Overall, nothing to write home about. I prefer mich amber bock, or new castle over this any day. Good for mabye a night out on the town drinking at a bar. A very middle of the road beer, but quaffable. TheOrange (405), Kent, Ohio, USA Oct 4, 2006 On tap at one of the local Austins. Deep amber pour, with a thin whitish head. The aroma was sweet. The flavor was very pleasent, small amount of hops, with a good match in the malts. This was sweet, with a touch of pine. Low-medium bodied. the Biggest downfall of this beer is the heavy carbonation. pretty good. lukin013 (211), Columbia, Maryland, USA Oct 1, 2006 On tap at Mad Mex. Dark amber pour with small off-white head. Very bland all around. Hop presence is almost unnoticeable. Lightly sweet and fruity malts but pretty weak overall. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 30, 2006 Poured a fairly dark color, interesting tint. Medium to large off white head, creamy. Aroma is a little disheartening. Lacks character. Tastes decent, sort of watered down. The palate is a little thin. Finishes smooth. jb (1024), Rochester, New York, USA Sep 29, 2006 Loved the color. An autumn looking dark orange. Big bubbles detracted a bit. Aroma of bread dough and bubble gum. Body is malt and no hops detected whatsoever. A bit thin. biznizness (930), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA Sep 25, 2006 Fizzy head, not particularly good. The Shiner beers have not impressed. Time to go watch some football with something else in the beer hand. T2Tool (352), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Sep 23, 2006 Had on tap. Poured dark brown. Nothing special, but is very drinkable. A good beer to drink if you are in it for the long haul. crgranger (6), Coral Springs, Florida, USA does not count Sep 19, 2006 Great beer! It’s the only beer I drink when I go to the lone Star state! Dark beer with great taste!
